Getting my diet and workout routine back on track

My mental health is getting stronger and a lot of that has to do with getting my diet and workout routine back on track. At the beginning of the year, I had a complete mental, emotional, and physical breakdown. It’s hard every single day but it’s absolutely necessary for my overall well-being to eat right and get back in shape.

Just move your body is my mantra.

Daily I walk for 30 minutes on a treadmill. No incline and at a very low speed. In 30 minutes I walk on average .38th of a mile. My brain hurts, my limbs hurt, my feet hurt. But I don’t walk slowly because my body hurts, I walk slowly because of my anxiety. Mental illness is so destabilizing.

So my workout starts with walking. Yes just walking, right now I just need to move my body. That’s it. Not snatch my body just move it.

Right now I’m doing an elimination diet.

An elimination diet is designed to detox and uncover food sensitivities. My entire body hurts and I’ve gained 22 lbs in the last six months. Many people love my new curves. However, I truly do not like my body at this size. An elimination diet will help me to first detox my systems and second see what foods are causing my sudden weight gain.

In addition to the elimination diet, I am only drinking water. I’m not a soda or juice person but I love coffee and tea. Reading The Ultramind Solution has taught me how bad both sugar and caffeine are for healing from anxiety and depression.

My hope is that these changes will help me to really get my diet and workout routine back on track.

Do you struggle with diet and working out? If so how do you manage it?
