Discovering My Kibbe Body Type: Theatrical Romantic

I genuinely believe that the Kibbe System is one of the best tools out there for enhancing personal style! It not only helps you recognize and celebrate the unique beauty of your body but also offers style guidelines tailored to your individual features. My journey began on TikTok when I stumbled upon color season analysis and discovered that I am a Deep Winter. The more I learned about flattering colors for my complexion, the more I encountered posts discussing style lines, fabrics, and silhouettes—all leading back to the name "Kibbe."

After watching my first Kibbe video, I was hooked. The creator explained how understanding my Kibbe body type could significantly elevate my personal style. I spent countless hours researching and trying to identify my Kibbe Body ID, but like many others, I initially mistyped myself.

It’s common to misidentify your Kibbe type at first because we often view our bodies through the narrow lens of societal ideals. Negative voices from childhood or online critics can drown out our self-perception, leading us to focus on our perceived flaws. When I first explored the Kibbe extremes, I convinced myself I was a Soft Natural because I had always been told I had broad shoulders. However, a personal stylist later pointed out that I actually had soft shoulders. He helped me understand that tops with drama and volume complemented my petite, delicate frame, adding depth rather than overwhelming it. Despite his insights, the ingrained voice in my head still led me to identify as a Soft Natural for about three months.

I eventually let go of that misidentification when I tried wearing Soft Natural style lines and found that the tops simply slid off my shoulders. Next, I considered the possibility of being a Soft Classic. One thing I knew for sure was that I had curves. It took me nearly eight months to finally accept that I fit the style lines of a Theatrical Romantic.

To be completely honest, it wasn’t until I got pregnant and experienced weight gain that I fully embraced being a Theatrical Romantic. I noticed how my body remained petite, sharp, delicate, and yet undeniably curvy throughout the changes. The weight gain clarified that my body didn’t align with the moderate balance of the Classic types or the width of the Natural family. I also lacked the contrast and compactness of the Gamine types, as well as the length and bluntness associated with the Dramatic types. This left me clearly aligned with the Romantic categories.

Choosing between Kibbe Theatrical Romantic and Pure Romantic was straightforward for me. I have always been described as "skinny and curvy," which aligns with the Kibbe description of sharp, delicate, round, and soft.

If I could do it all over again, I would have sought a Kibbe Body Type consultation much sooner. It would have saved me those frustrating eight months of uncertainty and allowed me to dive into my personal style journey much earlier. If you're searching for your Kibbe Body Type, I’d love to help you navigate this process more efficiently.
